Winter Camp with STEM Metaverse @ Headstart 2 - 15 Jan 2025

STEM Metaverse offers learning and development curriculums for kids, across different school premises. We provide interesting courses and short-term programs for children starting from the age of 6 years. This is a dynamic learning space that provides hands-on experience to children and encourages them to build upon critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Week 1: 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 7th, 8th January
Week 2: 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th, 15th January

3 - 5 Year Olds:

Day 1: Ice & Snow Science
Ice Fishing Experiment
Melting Race
Frozen Bubbles
Day 2: Igloo Day
Creating a mini igloo using sugar cubes
Then building a tent and enjoying a winter picnic indoors
Day 3: Let's go sledging
Miniature Sledge building & racing
Day 4: Fairyland
Making snowflake magic wands
Building a snowstorm in a jar
Twirling Ribbon Snowstorm:
Day 5: VR and Constructing a Christmas tree
Making a cardboard VR Headset and enjoying a sledge rollercoaster ride
Design thinking to construct a 1-foot-long Christmas tree
Day 6: Magnetic Ice Fishing
Understanding magnetism and using it for fishing in a frozen lake model made by the child
Day 7: Zoetrope and Winter Illusions
Understanding light and illusions by building a Zoetrope
Day 8: Marshmallow catapults and simple machines
Creating a winter wonderland with fun activities planned
Day 9: Winter constellations
Understanding the winter sky and making constellations
Day 10: Frozen Chemistry
Frozen Vinegar Balloons
Magic Melting Snowman
Color-Changing Snow

7 - 10 Year Olds:
Day 1: Use Design Thinking to Construct a 2 Ft high Christmas tree
Students work in teams to explore design thinking by balancing a tree and designing ornaments to hang on it
Day 2/3: Use Design thinking to construct a sledge for a doll
Students are introduced to the concept of friction, force and even motors to help them design a sledge in teams
Day 4/5: Let's mix lights
Basics of electricity and breadboards
Use Potentiometers and Photoresistors to create different colours of light
Day 5/6: Create a completely motorized amusement park
Use MDF to design and build an amusement park
Day 7/8: Introduction to Quantum Physics and the joys of light
The Double Slit Experiment
Experiments with optics
Exploring light and using lenses to build a VR headset
Day 9/10: Winter City Design
Build a Winter Wonderland
Using recycled materials, kids design and build a small winter-themed city
