We have always sought to address "The Real Education Problem," which is unaffected by business models, revenue generation, and market whims. By gamifying math and science and animating them, we didn't want to just skim the surface or sell a tablet loaded with videos. We wished to work on the core principles of what, how, and why we learn.
Thus, we questioned the core tenet of having a curriculum in the first place, particularly the big old subject-based curriculum. And it was at that point that we realized what the "true" issue was: the curriculum was being used to literate a large populace. With Real school, we aimed to create a system where one child is the center of all educational efforts before seeing whether we could expand it to be accessible to other kids.
